OK Google???

2015-07-02, 14:45 PM

Does anyone know if the 5.1 upgrade (when we finally get it) will have OK Google working for the Moto X 1st gen?  OK Google Now is okay, but I'd much prefer the full featured OK Google as it's much quicker, not having to recognize the speech and then send it off to Google search.  I've always been a little peeved that the premier Moto device (at the time) didn't have the ability to use OK Google, so I hope the new version of software will fix that deficiency.

Sadly, no. On the bright side, you can now set your own launch phrase for Moto's voice recognition. I use "OK Moto X", at least for now.

Hmmm, so are you running Lollipop?  Because I don't have the options you're showing me.

Yes, you were asking about Lollipop changes.

Also you can tell by the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen shots. Lollipop changes them to the triangle, circle, and square that you see in my screen caps.

You're right - and the $64,000 question remains - will it ever work????

And how is Lollipop working for you?  <----  Off topic warning

I haven't yet posted to those threads, but I'm having the same big two issues as lots of others are: cell standby battery drain (sometimes), and have recently developed the optimizing apps every reboot issue. Other than those I love it. But they are annoying.

Updated and answered all of the OK Google settings. Now it doesn't work and when I tried to fix it, this is what I found.

You need to set it up using the"Moto" app.

It you click on the Moto app it'll take you through the set up process.
