Storage of data - no SD card?

2013-12-19, 18:23 PM

I moved form Droid4 to Moto-X. To my surprise, there is no SD Card slot for storing large data, e.g. photos. I have a !^GB system but will have several eMail accounts soon that eats up a lot of storage. What do I do now?

No offense, but you probably should have looked into that before purchasing.  And what kind of e-mail accounts?  I thought e-mail accounts were primarily cloud based, with little to no storage on the device itself.  And I'm guessing !^GB = 16GB?

You have a couple options like cloud storage and a USB drive reader.

Nanniepoo!  Where have you been hiding?  Glad to see you're still around!

Just got a Moto X less than a week ago, so figured I should stop by!  Fantastic phone, absolutely love it.

I had my Droid4 die and the 32GB Moto-X had to be ordered. What is the process to go to cloud storage from camera. I used to  do PC connection or loaded the SD card. I have to monitor storage since this is a business phone and I download & open office docs & PowerPoint presentation for review. Is the an external "thumb drive" I could use?

Google+ can automatically upload your photos to storage only you can see if configured that way.  If you decide to do that, I strongly recommend that you enable the setting to only allow it to sync over Wi-Fi.

In terms of local storage, there is currently one app, Nexus Media Manager, that can still make use of USB OTG.  There may be others.
