Force Close Key Combo - XT603

My husband's phone becomes unresponsive at times. Short of pulling the battery pack out to reboot, is there some key/keyboard combination that will reboot the phone?

Re: Force Close Key Combo - XT603

Key combinations to do a "force reboot" are typically only found on devices where users cannot remove the battery (this is as far as I know--I welcome a correction if I am wrong).

Battery pulls are, for some, preferable as it gives the user a little more control over how long the device powers down.

When a device becomes unresponsive, the overwhelming majority of the time it is due to a 3rd party app interfering with something else.  Has the device always behaved like this?

I'm having the same problem, with the same phone  with the same carrier, since it's an "older" phone with an "older" Android Operating System 2.3.5, current applications are crashing this operating system and Motorola won't upgrade the operating system to a Android 3.0 or better, so I will have to either put up with the crashes and wait for my eligibility for a newer phone in May or go out and buy a new phone for the full retail price ($400.00).

Newer apps that are incompatible with your device's OS version--in theory--shouldn't load onto your device.  Are you sideloading the apps???

Re: Force Close Key Combo - XT603

No, the newer apps tell me that my OS version is not compatible with their
app. This is happening when I am logged onto and using Facebook, SnapChat,
Instagram, tumblr. I have since deleted all of these apps, the problem
still persists when I utilize my web browser, I get the same 2 message that
the android system has stopped working and to press the button to force
close it. Sometimes the phone shuts off by itself and restarts itself also.
The only thing that might help the situation out is to have a newer version
of the android operating system of 3.0 or better to keep the older version
from crashing all the time. In my ADMIRAL users guide it says this phone's
front camera will operate with android is 3.0 or better, it's not
functioning now nor do I get an option to utilize it under the current.
2.3.5 OS. Why can't these phones have the upgraded OS to prevent these
problems?

I hear you, and understand your frustration.  Unfortunately, as a fellow user I don't have the answer to that question....I have a Photon 4G that is stuck on 2.3 as well even though it seems that it is capable of running higher OS versions....sigh.
