SIM Card contents access - Atrix 2

2012-04-16, 16:48 PM

Hi,

I recently bought a Atrix-2 in Bangalore. I am unable to access the SIM Card contacts. It says that there are no contacts, while am able to access the contacts in the SIM card from a Nokia phone.

Any pointers and help to resolve this?

thanks

TSM-

Perhaps there are different SIM Card standards in the Nokia phone. Can you move the contacts to the Nokia's phone's memory and then bluetooth them from Nokia to Motorola? It is much better to keep your contacts in the cloud than on the SIM as if you lose the phone and SIM or SIM is damaged you lose all your contacts. If they're in the cloud then you have more assurances.

thanks Mark.

I did move it to google contacts by saving the nokia (s-40 device) contacts into a .nbf file, renaming it as .zip, extracting the individual .vcf files, merging and converting it into a .csv and then importing it into google contacts (after several challenges).

However that does not solve the SIMcard access problem. If Atrix 2 cannot fully access a SIMcard then it is better to point out the incompatibility - I have no issues accessing the SIMCard from the nokia or other android devices...

Can you still point me to a solution?

 TSM-

It could be that the phone has a faulty SIM slot. Could you go to your service providers store and have them test another SIM in the phone or borrow a friend's SIM to try in the phone?

I know there are a few different SIM standards out there N3, H4, N5.
