Re: Since ICS updates causing reboots

Not sure my message came thru correctly.

Ever since I installed the ICS update, whenever I do any application updates, the phone reboots.  It never used to do that on GB.

Anyone experience something similar?

Is it just when you update apps in the play store or does it happen other times as well?

What have you tried to fix it so far?

I have been living with it mostly. The phone is totally stock, never rooted or anything. In fact, I participated in the ICS soak test.

Yes it happens during Play Store updates, a few other very sporadic reboots have occurred.

Haven't noticed it during Amazon app updates.

Have you tried clearing the data from the play store app and or uninstalling the updates yet from the play store app?

Have you tried a factory reset?

Thanks for the suggestions, I tried the 'clear data' option. Ran some updates and had no reboot. Hope that clears it up, will let you know.

Thanks again for your help.

Sadly, that didn't really do it.  Still rebooting on app updates, also it appears to really freak the phone out when transitioning from celluar data to or from wifi.  If I uninstall Play Store updates won't they just re-install?  or is that the idea?

Yes. This is a way to make sure if any play store updates were corrupted.

Massive slow downs and reboots during/after updates, best bet get a new phone that was designed to be upgraded.

I would love to, but I'm stuck in my AT&T contract until July.  Not too keen on the LG Nexus.  I would jump on a Motorola Nexus device though...
