LTE - Now this is 4G!

2012-07-27, 12:17 PM

Long time Atrix fan, but as soon as you taste LTE - you will find out that the original Atrix 4G was really 3.2G.

So let's compare true 4G notes.

If you just want to provide ping time, upload and download without a pic, that is fine. But be ready to prove it!

This is from the Cleveland area.... I am going to miss this when I go back home to slow speed.

Not as good, but I'm in a major market at the moment... still quite good.

AT&Ts current LTE build is good if you're in a fresh market, but once it becomes saturated it's around the same if not slower than HSPA+

By the time the network becomes overly slow, we'll be moving on to 5G.

Since we still have not hit "real" 4G yet, even with LTE, it may just be called 4G LTE+ or something similar, during the next evolution.

Real "4G" is defined, but the ITUR, as a 100Mbps mobile connection w/ 1Gbps stationary.

We're at half the mobile and less than 20% on stationary.

Anything slower than 10Mbps on LTE isn't great, as it is the same on HSPA+ depending on device.

I guess to look on the bright side, all of this is faster than services on Sprint :D
