Re: ATRIX 2: Cannot add facebook account

Just taking another stab here....

You can try going to 'Manage Apps', then 'All' -- go to 'Accounts', use 'Clear Data' (you'll have to enter your email accounts, etc again).  Do the same as I said above with uninstalling Facebook, etc. again - and leave the install of the Facebook app for very last.

Other than that, I thiink you may have to do a factory reset..

The clear data button is inactive. Should I try to perform force stop and then see if it gets active?

You didn't "Block" or remove the MOTOBLUR app on Facebook Applications did you? Some people remove or block it and this causes their phone not to work any longer with the integrated Facebook functionality.

Account Settings > Apps > App settings > MOTOBLUR

Account Settings > Apps > App Settings > Phone

Check Notifications as well.

In the App settings, I dont see anything. I only get the message "You have not authorized any apps to interact with your Facebook account."

Also, what should I be looking for in the notifications?

Go to MOTOBLUR and authorize the app so it shows up in your list of applications.

I am not sure how to authorize an app in facebook. I followed your link and signed in to my facebook account and then clicked the "Add to my page" link on the lower left corner. However, a pop-up window appears with the following message "Select which Page you wish to add MOTOBLUR™ to."  No Results found. Please look at attached jpeg for screenshot.

I know this is not a facebook forum. But if easy, I hope you can show me the right way.

I couldn't get my screen to look like yours since it is in my approved list. Thanks for the screenshot. I'm used to having the phone add it in the background automatically. You could try liking the page but I don't think that authorizes the app. I thought htere was something down in the lower left.  I would also check your (Privacy settings) > Blocked People and Apps, though I'm guessing it's not in there since you have the link for "Block App" in the screenshot above.

I'll see if there are any other manually ways to add it back.

Re: ATRIX 2: Cannot add facebook account

I tried liking and also checked Block people and app. Didn't help. My experience is when we add a new app, facebook asks for permission to access data. This comes up with a new page with two option: Allow and Don'r Allow. I do not get such a page when trying to add MotoBlur App.

Let me know whenever you find more information.

Re: ATRIX 2: Cannot add facebook account

So, I finally got it to work. Yesterday under Privacy Setting, I saw that my apps were turned off. I tried immediately logging through my phone after turing apps on (See attached screenshot). But, I did not work.

However, I just tried again and it worked. So my guess it Atrix 2 automatically creates a phone app on your facebook account. Its cool, although I wonder how my data is being used by Motorola. To be honest, there is nothing special and hence I dont care.

Thanks Mark for getting me on right track.

This helped me too

Anything other than an interactive login to "facebook.com" on a web browser that connects to your Facebook account as an "app".  In this case, the app is Motoblur -- and it gets updates to your page, you allow it to post status updates on your behalf, post pictures, etc.. This is all done via your phone.  Because the app on your phone is doing this for you instead of you actually using the Facebook app or the website, it is classified as an app, which allows you to limit just how much it can do on your behalf.
