Re: ' Further plans coming soon '

This has to be one of the worst examples of public relations I have ever seen (and that's saying a LOT from a former AMC Pacer owner). Apparently all public relations/advertising specialists were let go inthe latest round of layoffs. Regardless of your intentions Motorola, this "announcement" has OBVIOUSLY hacked-off quite a few people. If I were the CEO, heads would be rolling overf this fiasco.

I am TRYING to stay positive, but this has produced quite an emotional crash from being led to believe I would be enjoying Jelly Bean by New Year's and going to thinking I may be lucky to salvage $100 out of what has been my favorite cell phone ever. Very disappointing, to saynthe least.

The reply below is hilarious to me. I know you were bought by google stop thinking we are stupid.

ear Jason,

Thanks for reaching out to Motorola.

We are always gathering input from owners from calls, e-mails, the Web and other sources. We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and want to assure you that Motorola does value your feedback. We open a record for all consumer contacts which are then routed to the proper department for any further research.

I do apologize but we currently do not have any notifications regarding the exact release date of the official Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Motorola ATRIX 2. We will provide more precise guidance on timing once deployment details have been finalized by Google, as well as any possible additions to this list of devices for this Android upgrade. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.

Please continue to check the Motorola website and forums as these will have the most up-to-date information. We will post the update and it's detail on this link:

We hope that you find this information useful and we look forward to assisting you in the future.

Some more insult added to insult. Samsung Galaxy SII getting Jelly Bean in not to distant future. Must be nice to have a company that supports products and communicates with customers. #motofail

For my next phone it's going to be the top of the line phone. I don't care if I have to pay $300 with a 2yr contract to get it. I just don't want to be dicked around waiting for at least the next two upgrades. I want  a phone that's going to have priority #1 to be upgraded over the lower 2nd and 3rd tier consumer phones such as the Atrix 2 seems to be.

We reported earlier today that Samsung’s Galaxy S3 has begun updating to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in Europe and Samsung has now revealed a full list of all devices which will also be updated.

The list includes the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Ace Plus and Galaxy Mini 2 for smartphones.

Samsung has started its rollout of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to the popular flagship Galaxy S3 handset.

Reports are emerging from European users who say they’ve been able to download the 282MB patch over Samsung’s Kies update software on unlocked, SIM-free Galaxy S3’s.

The 4.1.1 build includes Google’s ‘Project Butter’ interface improvements and the new Google Now service.

Owners of unlocked HTC One X handsets will get Jelly Bean in October, according to news from the site of renowned developer Paul O’Brien.

The report claims unlocked phones will get the update first but that HTC plans to have rolled out to all network contract models by Christmas. Whether approval is given by all operators by that time is another question, of course.

And the list goes on.... angry

This is a disappointing development.  But still not worth jumping to a Samsung phone with inferior glass.  I'll take my scratch free Atrix 2, and be fine with it for another few months.

Besides, LTE roll outs are still not quite there with "good" coverage.  Another 12 months for both verizon and ATT to have mature LTE networks.

Sitting tight, not jumping into a new phone.

Im sitting tight because I have to until next year when I eligable for an upgrade. If Moto doesnt come good on their promises and get me some real information by the second week in October I know I"ll never ever buy another motorola product. I love their hardware but the software they release with new hardware is a joke and the support after the realse is even more pathetic. I dont like being strung along and lied to. and Ill let everyone know about their Business practices (that is if Q3 ends with no real information, I'm in IT and I know there are delays and set backs but thats why there is that INFORMATION part of IT; I need some solid information)

I cant speak for anyone else but that $100 leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like somone leaving a 20 on the night table after and I was here thinking we were on the way to a good relationship.. Is a $100 supposed to make me forget the month and months of broken promises (same behavior through 3 devices). I see how much you think of me.
