Processor Issue

2012-10-14, 20:09 PM

I got my Atrix 2 less than a month ago and there after i proceeded with the ICS OTA upgrade. I have noticed that after the ICS update the processor is back to its own clock speed i.e 1.2ghz rather than then usual underclocked speed i.e 1ghz. But this had occured with all the other moto atrix 2 users in India. But my atrix 2 is still stuck on 1ghz. When i asked the customer care thet are saying that ICS is a software upgrade and hardware wont get affected( which i know very well ). But my question is what about other users? Why have they been upgraded to 1.2 and am still on 1ghz state. Even www.gsmarena.com is showing that atrix 2 has a 1.2ghz dual core processor.

A fast reply will be very much appreciated.

Thank You.

I think there were 2 kinds of Chipsets TI OMAP some of them have the possibility for clock speed at 1.2ghz but others not, ICS is only a OS and show only the hardware that you have, is like you see for a window.

I had been wondering the same thing. My US AT&T version has always reported 1.0gHz so I was confused when some members were saying after the OTA ICS upgrade their phones were showing 1.2gHz. So it appears there are two chipset versions out there??

What the hell? Motorola should replace all the 1.0 versions then. We paid the same money then why should we face a discrimination.

There is no "discrimination." The specs for Atrix 2 on the box AND web-site clearly state a "1.0 gHz processor." If some got a processor with higher capabilities they were "lucky" not shown any favor. You were not "shorted" in any way from what was advertised and delivered.

BTW I only got a 1.0 too.
