Sync Issues and fc

2011-11-08, 21:16 PM

Just got this new atrix 2 and there are some major issues with it.

First I get the process com.motorola.service.main error and fc a lot. I did the clock fix and it still does it the fc.

Secondly, I can get exchange 2007 to sync email and calendar but it won't sync contacts at all. I checked the settings and contacts are set to sync.

Next, the emails won't push, only retrieve when I push the refresh button. Again settings are good. Not in night battery/data saver mode.

My EAS settings are good as it works ok with the Atrix 1 and the HTC I have been using. Something is just wrong with this new build. I tried another atria 2 and it still does the same thing.

I have master reset it countless times, skipped the g,ail import and went right to Corp setup to see if something google was doing was messing it up. Tried it on a "naked" phone with no apps installed and all made no difference.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Who else is having this issue?

Are you able to successfully sync contacts with your EAS?

Please post if your are good or not good either way. Your replies are much appreciated.

Syncing fine here with 2007. No issues. Maybe your admin has a mobile device limit?

You could go into OWA and clear out extra mobile devices. Others are doing EAS fine. You are the first to report this issue.

Have you tried our Android For Business Community or Support?

Regarding the Force Closes have you tried the solution here?

@appleseed

Then try this:

  • Go to settings, date & time.
  • Switch "Automatic" off.
  • Set timezone to some INCORRECT timezone (say Greenland)
  • Switch "Automatic" on.
  • Power your phone off and then back on.

@appleseed

Have you tried uninstalling apps one by one and then check with email and see if the error stops popping up?

If none of that results in anything might want to try a Factory Data Reset and start fresh. Not generally my first suggestion but might be the quickest for you.

My apologies. Was reading much too fast.

Okay please download alogcat from android market.  Reproduce the force close and then email it to supportforums@motorola.com. Include your IMEI, Username, Atrix 2 and link to this thread in the post. I'll forward the logs on.  I would also like to get the force close data from your phone. Do you have Android SDK installed on your computer?
