if my device is not eligible, can you still help me unlock it?
No.
Ok, so my device should be eligible, but when in enter my unlock string in your tool, I get an error message. What’s wrong?
Please make sure the string you enter in the tool is:
- formatted to fit on one line only
- has no spaces (you have to remove them manually)
- has no carriage returns (these pesky \n)
- is of the right length, e.g don’t forget to append the extra 000000… on the last line
- USE THE SCRUB TOOL on the UNLOCK PAGE - ABOVE the INPUT BOX
As an example, this is what is returned with the fastboot command
$ fastboot oem get_unlock_data
(bootloader) 0A40040192024205#4C4D3556313230
(bootloader) 99999999999999993332323239#BD00
(bootloader) 8A672BA4746C2CE02328A2AC0C39F95
(bootloader) 1A3E5#1F53280002000000000000000
(bootloader) 0000000
And this is what you should enter in the form; it’s a single line, no spaces but with all the trailing zeroes.
0A40040192024205#4C4D355631323030373731363031303332323239#BD008A672BA4746C2CE02328A2A 0C39F951A3E5#1F532800020000000000000000000000
Ok, I entered my unlock string, requested an unlock key, but it’s not in my email. What do I do?
The unlock key should be sent to you within an hour. Subject is "Unlocking Your Device". Please check your SPAM folder, or if you are a GMAIL user, please check the UPDATES folder as the new Gmail sorting rules place additional communications from Motorola in your update folder.
What browser should I use?
We recommend Google Chrome. Make sure Pop-up/Ad Blockers are turned off and you aren't in Incognito mode.
Ok, nothing’s working !!!! Help me!
Let us know on this thread, and we will try to help. Please make sure you check the steps above first. If you believe you still have an issue, please make sure to include in your post :
- The data returned by $ fastboot oem get_unlock_data (don't remove the "(bootloader)" from the results. There is a helpful tool now to make your unlock data here. <--- SCRUB TOOL on UNLOCK PAGE
- The data returned by $ fastboot getvar all
- If possible, please provide these strings as text (cut/paste) rather than screenshots of your desktop. It will make it a lot easier for us to help you as we need to cut-and-paste this data as well.
Can I send you PM to get help?
No, we don't respond to PM's unless we PM you first.
How long will it take you to get back to me?
We try to respond within 48 business hours. Excluding weekends and holidays.
How do I unsubscribe from this thread once I get my solution?
At the top of this thread there is an option to unsubscribe.
Thanks!
