Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2019-12-30, 17:13 PM

Hi alphadog

i have read the links you referenced. The reason I am confused is that the cid for my Moto e is 0007 which according to the guides can be unlocked.

also this was purchased as an unlocked phone without being tied to any carrier. I can also see people historically have had this model unlocked.

any ideas?

Yes, as stated above, older phones may no longer have unlock codes available. See the second link I posted.

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

I pasted the code below into the unlocking tool and get the message "Your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking". Which is strange because the cid, 0x0032, qualifies for unlocking.

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

@usernaeame7

If you used the data scrub tool, and you get the message "Your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking" Then it is likely your device can't be unlocked. Either the CID value is not valid, or the device is to old, or the device is not valid for unlock:

See the CID value and what is valid here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/MOTOROLA-Android-Developer/Bootloader-Unlock-Problems/m-p/3222809

See this unlocking page for eligible devices. Note that older devices may not be eligible. https://support.motorola.com/us/en/solution/MS87215

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

Would you please be able to help me unlock the bootloader on this Sprint Z2 Force? There's no reason for it to be unlockable and fail with "does not qualify" as far as I see. Thank you.

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2020-01-16, 16:06 PM

So I was wondering, what's the status with unlocking the sprint z2 forces that are errorneously "not eligible" on the unlock website?

It has been a month since "Your request has been submitted. Please allow at least 2 business days and watch your spam/social email folders for a response." message, still nothing, and I still would love to get that small black brick usable.

Thanks.

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

Hello again,

some time ago I posted the question, why my unlocking eligable device cannot be unlocked.

Maybe my post was ignored because I didn't provide any output.

so:

I used the data scrub tool to get the string for my unlock code which I received.

Following the instructions I used the code to unlock the bootloader:

.\fastboot oem unlock <CODE>
(bootloader) WARNING: This command erases all user data.
(bootloader) Please re-run this command to continue.
OKAY [ 0.002s]
Finished. Total time: 0.004s

.\fastboot oem unlock <CODE>
(bootloader) Check 'Allow OEM Unlock' in Android Settings > Developer
(bootloader) Options
OKAY [ 0.005s]
Finished. Total time: 0.006s

And sadly that's it. Nothing happens at all.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers
