Re:Bootloader Unlock Problems?

I have a question regarding the "SIM network unlock PIN".  How do I get the PIN?  The online PIN unlockers gave me a code that didn't work, could that be because the bootloader is unlocked?

Thank you,

Hi Tmiller101

Are you using a locked device? Usually this would go to your carrier. I would suggest contacting them to get an unlock code. Thanks.

Re:Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2021-02-05, 18:35 PM

Yes I purchased a used Moto G7.  My first instinct was to check to see if the bootloader could be unlocked.  After I unlocked it I put my SIM in the phone and received a message that the phone was network locked. Xfinity wouldn't tell me the code.  I then purchased the code from a company that claimed it would unlock it.  It did not, a first.  After several attempts using this code I gave up and posted here in search of a solution.  I was thinking that maybe the unlocked bootloader was throwing a wrench into the system.

This morning I re-entered the code in order to capture some screen shots to show the error message.  Instead of getting the incorrect code message I got the it is "now unlocked" message.  Everything is fine now.

However, I do find it interesting that this particular situation has happened to me on more than a few occasions.  That situation being I receive a code to unlock something and it doesn't work or I'm told it can't be unlocked.  Then I go back a few hours or days later and it works.  So for those who are having difficulties with the unlocking of the bootloader try, try, try again.
