Find your device model. and create a thread in that forum if there is not one that fits.

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2016-07-16, 1:30 AM

Hello comunity, i have searched info about posting this question. Anyhow, I have a moto x play and i have requested the unlock code several times but no email arrives. I have successfully reache the message

"""

You should have received an email with your Unlock Key. Inside the email is a unique 20-character alphanumeric code that you will use to unlock your device.

""""""

I have waited over an hour, should I wait a bit longer? Is the system down? I have unlocked several motorola phones in the past without any problems.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2016-07-16, 9:21 AM

Hi there,

Hoping you can help - looks like my CID falls into the ELIGIBLE category, but the bootloader is telling me that it won't issue any unlock data.

Phone got some water damage so trying to get it to boot. It's managing loading into the bootloader ok, but won't get any further than that. Volume buttons work for selecting options, but power button doesn't work for clicking them. Although, power button + volume down button combo works for booting into fastboot. Thought I'd try a factory reset as a last resort.

Here's the copy paste!

Many thanks,

Martin

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

@martmacd

If your phone is wet, it will fail at some point. Unlocking the bootloader is not going to help. And unlocking the bootloader erases non-nexus phones.

But there is no unlock code for nexus phones. All you have to do is listed in the second command. If you can't get into the GUI, no unlock.

There is an ADB or fastboot  reset command I believe

  • the commands below tell you - the unlock command is not needed
  • the commands below  tell you to "check allow OEM unlock in developer options"

bootloader) This command is not needed to unlock. Run fastboot oem
(bootloader) unlock directly.

Please follow instructions in post 1 and what has been repeated many times: Please provide output of getvar all and get OEM unlock data - unformatted. Cut and paste it all from cmd window
