Convert moto razr 40 ultra Chinese ROM to global one
I have bought moto razr 40 ultra with Chinese ROM 3 weeks ago in Singapore shoppee app. As there is no official release in Singapore.
Everything is fine but whenever I try to download new wallpaper it directs me to Chinese app center ,some settings and android updates comes in Chinese language which I do not understand.
I'm finding this operation very irritating as I couldn't understand the few settings in my own mobile though I have play store and google apps
Now can anyone confirm if it is possible to convert moto razr 40 ultra Chinese to global rom. If yes please help to share the steps.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for sharing your post. It appears that your phone's language is different from what is intended for use in Singapore. Unfortunately, we do not support the conversion or alteration of a device's ROM to a different one within this community. However, another user has provided a suggestion that may be helpful. Please note that unlocking the bootloader of your phone can void its warranty and may result in software damage or other problems that are not covered under the warranty. This is a risk that you would assume if you choose to proceed. Again, once the bootloader is unlocked and problems occur after this, Motorola won't be responsible for any of these.
Let us know if you have questions. We'll move this post to the Android Developer community, as you originally posted on the Moto Razr 40 Ultra community.
To further, we encourage you to create an account in this community.

Convert moto razr 40 ultra Chinese ROM to global one
Re:Convert moto razr 40 ultra Chinese ROM to global one
Finally, I am not the only one. Thank you for raising this topic. I already converted mine from CN rom to EU rom, the way is pretty much like the X30 conversion, Check xda for detail or if you are experienced, see below simple steps.
1. prepare platform-tools, you know what I mean, and your bootloader unlock request code,
2. request bootloader unlock code at https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-b, once you receive bootloader unlock code, warranty is void no matter you proceed rest steps or not
3. unlock your bootloader
4. download the EU rom, you should consider variant XT2321-1 since I am not sure whether there is hardware difference in the US model XT2321-3
5. execute the fl**h-all.bat
6. use "fastboot oem config carrier reteu" to change your OTA channel
7. if you need to use some banking apps, you need to relock your bootloader (which is already an EU one), but I strongly recommend not doing it immediately. Instead, you'd better try to boot and setup your phone, check the OEM unlocking option first. If it is not greyed out, do a factory reset, then relock your bootloader.
One tricky thing I found is when I firstly setup my EU rom razr 40 ultra, the software channel is reteu as I expected, but after few hours it changed back to retcn, not sure is it because of the cid 0x000B or I am using a SIM card from Chinese carrier. And OEM unlocking on my phone greyed out for weeks, I am stilling figuring how to apply updates.
Good luck for you~~

Thanks for trying to help other users. It is expected with the software channel. It will still show the original software channel as its original identity of being a Chinese model. The ROM can be altered or changed, but the software channel will stay as it is.
