Oem unlock and Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2017-09-09, 15:56 PM

My moto G4 Plus (XT1643) failed to boot up after a upgrade (Didnt make a note of that version). Now, it fails to boot up and directly boots into the bootloader, with the reason as: Failed to initialize partition table.

My recovery also doesnt work and it returns to this bootloader screen. It shows that it is oem_locked state, even though I had previously Enabled oem unlock from the developer options.

Now, I had previously unlocked the bootloader using the official procedure given and keying in the unique code. However, when I try to reflash the stock android and start afresh, it says that the pre-flash validation failed for all the commands like:

fastboot flash partition gpt.bin

(bootloader) Image primary_gpt failed validation

(bootloader) Preflash validation failed

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

(bootloader) Invalid partition name recovery

All other standard commands like

fastboot oem fb_mode_set

FAILED (remote failure)

I figured the root cause is the corrupted partition table. And to reconfigure the partition table, I need to have an unlocked bootloader.

When I again enter the

fastboot oem unlock <code>

it returns

(bootloader) Check 'Allow OEM Unlock' in Android Settings > Developer
(bootloader) Options

Which I cannot now, as I cannot start my OS.

Help me!

Moved to new thread - bootloader unlock thread is for getting a code.

I know of no work around.  Nexus phones have the same limitation.  If you cant get into gui, to enable bootloader unlock, there is no way to flash an os.
