Razr™ i Unlock Support and Kernel Source

2012-10-02, 20:26 PM

Oh boy here I go again...

My RAZR i will be at my door tomorrow via FedEx from Expansys-USA.com. I am really looking forward to getting started to development and the normal run-down on this bad boy of a device. So when can we see kernel source and support for unlock via the Unlock My Device page? (Mine is the retail, non-carrier branded model).

Thanks!

You can try to unlock your RAZR i via the http://www.motorola.com/unlockbootloader page right now.

I've already unlocked two devices, so the process is in place, although the device is not yet listed.

About kernel source, I'll ask.

Can you already root, as well?

I'm not sure if the method currently available for RAZR M developers edition will work here, since it would require a custom recovery for Intel processors.

Once we have a copy of the stock images (boot.img for kernel and recovery.img) we can root, or once we have the kernel source. Have to unlock to use these btw.

I was hoping to beat you to the punch, Matt, but no such luck. The kernels will be available soon.
