Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2015-04-17, 19:42 PM

I have a Moto G and it goes straight to the fastboot and says that it can not boot.

i can not flash it with fastboot, i can not flash any image, no recovery rom, i can even not boot a recovery rom, only the stock recovery i am able to boot, where i can see all my files on the userdata partition, even if i wipe the userdata they are still there.

I already unlocked the bootloader, but it changes nothing on my luck.

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

Moto G 1st Gen.  Phone powered off and will not boot.  Goes into fastboot.  Recovery and Factory options do not work.  Get "failed to validate system image".  Tried fastboot oem get_unlock_data and get "Could not get unlock data!".  Should be able to as "cid: 0x0007".

Moto G 2nd Gen.  Phone powered off and will not boot.  Goes into fastboot.  Recovery and Factory options do not work.  Get "failed to validate system image".  Tried fastboot oem get_unlock_data and get "Could not get unlock data!".

If it will only boot into recovery and nothing else, make sure you backup
all data on your sd card to the computer (if it isn't possible remove card
after the power is off) power the device off completely, and when powering
on, press and hold Power + Vol Down + Home (or where the home button should
be. Most phones like the Motos have soft keys) Hold for at least 5-7
seconds, and if doesn't boot into recovery, release buttons and it should.
Plug in phone to USB and when connected, type:
fastboot reboot
*if it still goes to recovery, try...
fastboot reboot -w
NOTE: the last command will erase ALL user data so remove Sd if you have
anything on it you want to keep. Let me know if this helps or not. We can
try something else

Phone always boots into fastboot mode without any key combination. Once power on it will boot into fastboot mode.

secondly, "fastboot reboot" command reboots phone and again phone reboots into fastboot mode with error message "failed to validate boot image"

C:\>fastboot reboot

rebooting...

finished. total time: -0.000s

C:\>fastboot reboot -w

erasing 'userdata'...

(bootloader) Failed to erase partition

FAILED (remote failure)

finished. total time: 9.968s

When it reboots into fastmode, try the command

fastboot continue

You can also try locking it back and rebooting:

fastboot oem lock
(it may ask for an integer [0 for the statement to be false, 1 to make
it true. Ex- "fastboot oem lock 1" would lock the bootloader back)

then,
fastboot reboot
