Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2015-02-26, 22:32 PM

Hi! I've got a bit of a unique situation and I think you might be able to help me. My Nexus 6 was mid-flash to LRX22C and suddenly restarted and my device says "Invalid CID". Fastboot getvar says my CID is 0xDEAD, but it should be 0x00DE. As a consequence, I am only able to flash signed images because my bootloader locked and the boot, system, recovery, and cache are not signed, so I'm stuck in fastboot mode. I noticed there's a command called cid_prov_req but I'm not sure what to do. I've actually got a full backup, including my original CID partition, but fastboot won't allow me to flash it. Any chance you guys can help a fellow geek out?

Re: Bootloader Unlock Problems?

2015-02-27, 7:09 AM

Help??  If this is the wrong place to post I am sorry. I have been hopping from thread to thread all day. This is the only place I see with a post button.

I have been at this for hours.

I have followed all instructions... I found this info here...

Moto G (1st Gen Only) on 4.4.4

  • Download this ZIP file and follow the instructions in the ZIP file. This only applies to users for Moto G , First Generation, on 4.4.4. Please do not try these steps on a Moto G 4G LTE, or Second Generation G.

I downloaded the zip but can not read the instructions in the read me first file.

I have a Boost Moto G XT1031  running 4.4.4  cid is 0x0009 it should be unlockable. I get wrong password.

I got the string but had to email for the unlock code. I received the unlock code but I keep getting an error...

I purchased from Motorola.com. I've searched Google's site, Motorola's, etc... Nothing has any information about repairing my CID. I've exhausted all resources and channels without a resolution. I have the option to RMA, but it seems silly when I just need to flash a 2MB file. I'm hoping that you could forward this to the engineers and see if they can't give me a hand. Thanks Mark!

Hi Mark,

I'm having the same issue as BenG24, the message to enable oem unlock in dev options. I also got mine from US Cellular. I've only seen one other person with this issue, there's not much online about it. Did you solve Ben's problem?

@dylanp
My issue has not yet been solved. This is very strange though because it is impossible to unlock the bootloader without this check box. I don't know too much about android but I am guessing we need a system update to fix the problem.

@BenG24 You're probably right, but if that is the case then we'll have to wait for Motorola and US Cellular to release updates, which might never happen. Mark, is there any other solution? It's impossible to downgrade to kitkat at this point, right?
