Can't access Defy+ files from PC

2012-09-12, 3:20 AM

When I connect my Defy+ to my PC (Win XP/SP3) with a USB cable it shows up as MB526 Digital Camera in My Computer. Clicking on MB526 opens up a list of folders/files in the phone root directory but clicking on any folder results in an empty dialog.

In the Device Manager the phone shows up under 'Imaging Devices' using a Microsoft generic driver rather than a Motorola one.  It also shows up as Motorola USB Modem & Motorola USB Composite Device and Motorola USB Networking Driver.   It does not show up under Disk Drives.

I have the latest drivers installed: MotoHelper_2.0.53_Driver_5.2.0.exe. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting my PC etc. with the same results described above.

Attempting to access using the Moto Phone Portal displays the Inbox and Photos, but clicking on File Manager in Firefox gives an "Internet Explorer Only" error. Unfortunately when using IE selecting File Manager gives 'User 1' on drop down menu, selecting User1 does nothing.

How can I access the files on my DEFY+ from my PC?
