Re: defy mini

Hi hollow7,

Turn of the phone, take out the SIM and SD card and then perform a wipe of the cache:

1. Press volume down and up & POWER button (Key on/off) for 5 seconds.

2. Once the open box and the arrow appears, press POWER button.

3. Press the volume down button to select the “wipe cache” option.

4. Press the camera button to confirm selection.

5. Once the wipe cache option is completed, press the camera key to confirm the selection “reboot system now”

If that does not help, then you might need to do the whole process again, but select "wipe data/ factory reset" this time.

The option "wipe cache" will not delete any data, but "wipe data/ factory reset" will delete everything on your phone.

I hope it works for you just using the "wipe cache" option.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Nicole

Re: defy mini

Hi Emmaw91,

it would be important to take the battery out, put it in again and to start the phone up with the combination of buttons.

Does that help? Let me know.

Cheers,

Nicole

Re: defy mini

I write to thank Nicole. I found this post (and forum) through google after my phone crashed and when I restarted it, I couldn't get past the pulsating M screen. I initially tried removing the battery several times (this was also to shut down as it wouldn't power off) but this didn't solve the issue.

Having stumbled on this thread, I then followed Nicole's instructrions and it's now up and running again.

The only thing I'll add is to say to put the battery back in (but not the sim or sd cards) before pressing the power & volume buttons. Pretty obvious really but it took me a couple of minutes to work out that without power, I wasn't going to get to the open box screen. Once I made the breakthrough, the rest was a doddle.

This worked for me up till step 6, because after reboot system now the pulsating m returned and it didn't turn on. I also took out battery and put it back in, but it didn't work either. Do you have an alternative? Thanks!
