I have installed --rom reference removed-- image. Is there any other stable releases for the same? Also, in case my device doesn't work perfectly, how can I revert back to pre-installaed OS in my device?

There are no plans to upgrade the Defy+ MB526 past Gingerbread.

This released by Motorola in USA today via Wall Street Journal:
Motorola, for its part, listed Android as one of its three "big bets" to aid its turnaround, along with network speed and power management. All three new Droid Razr phones will upgrade to Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android by the end of the year. The mobile-device maker also said it would upgrade as many phones shipped after 2011 as possible to Jelly Bean, and give the rest of those users with hardware ill-equipped for the upgrade a $99 rebate.
So does this mean the Defy+ will be getting JB or we will be getting $99 USD from Motorola? The Defy's HW is fully equipped to run ICS, as demonstrated by those who have went out and done it on their own. I don't know about JB, but hopefully all the confussion over the buy-out by Google and re-structering of the company will lead to a better technology road map and support for Android buyers. Wouldn't that be refreshing!

after more than 9 years with only motorola devices and after this attitude from motorola i decided that my recent defy+ is my last experience with motorola.
I regret that i spent all these years believing in motorola, they proved that they don't respect their cutomers.
bye bye motos
