Can i download and use my own ringtones?

2012-10-10, 21:40 PM

Hi all. Im not that enthusiastic about the default sounds and ringtones on the Defy Mini. Can i download and use my own ones like MP3 etc..? I am a total newbie to phones, this is my first non Nokia phone and first touch phone. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Also, my husband just tried to connect his Nokia to mine via Bluetooth. The phones are able to pair but unable to connect - he was trying to send an mp3 to my phone.. any advice?

First of all, the FAQ is available under http://www.motorola.com/mydefymini

You'd have to copy some music to your device first, by connecting it to PC via USB, see here:

https://motorola-global-en-aus.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/83542/p/30%2C6720%2C8421/kw/copy%20usb/session/L3RpbWUvMTM0OTk2MTk3NC9zaWQvKnhELTlzOGw%3D

Then use the builtin music player, select the tune you want to have as ringtone, push the menu button and "set as ringtone".

Alternatively you could use an app from Google Play like Tone Picker:

Thanks a lot for your helpful tips.

Just wondering though, did the Bluetooth transfer not work because my husband's phone is a Nokia?
