Electrify M Froze

2013-03-20, 13:02 PM

Anybody else have a problem with their Electrify M froze at lock screen and/or a black screen where the power button is unresponsive?  Have to do a reboot to get the phone to come back up.  I bought two at U S Cellular BOGO deal and both has this intermittened problem.  May go for two days not a problem at all just for no ryme or reason it does this after the device has been asleep for a while.  I have only a few days left were they will let me exchange them but I have a feeling that the lot that U S cellular has they all may have this problem.

Replying to my own post: Device did it again this morning.  My wife went to call me and she couldn't get through, it was in my shirt pocket and went dead again, had to do a reset.

That was it..took it back to USCC had them give me a new one so we will see how it goes now....

For what it's worth, I got my Electrify M on the first day it was available back last November. Including the JellyBean upgrade I've had my phone lock up exactly once. Otherwise it has never stalled, stuttered or otherwise misbehaved in any manner, so it's definitely not inherent to the hardware or the OS.

I’ve had my M since mid-December and it’s never locked up or frozen. I often go 2-3 weeks at a time before I choose to reboot it.

Your problem reminds me of a similar issue I had with the old HTC Desire and Sandisk 16G microSD cards. Tried two different cards and the phone wouldn’t run for over 24 hours or so before locking up. Put an old Sandisk 8G card in it and it was fine. I have one of those 16G cards in my M now and it’s fine in that phone. Frustrating because I could never trust whether or not the phone was working or locked up, so I was checking it constantly.

Hmm in case that's the issue, from day 1 I've had a 32 Gig Sandisk Class4 in mine SDSDQ-032G-A11M to be exact, not that it's been of much use since the JB upgrade removed the USB stoarage option. Also, I have rebooted exactly twice: once during the JB upgrade, of course, and the one time it locked up (about 2 weeks after the JB upgrade).

So far so good its been almost 24 hrs since I got my replacement, I think it had some hardware issue that was missbehaving.  It was just my luck that I got one that had lemon issues..I hope.

I also bought the BOGO deal at U.S. Cellular, but it was on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, mine froze but the other one hasn't so far that I know of. That's the only time mine froze.

We so far so good on this one exchanged it week ago today.  My wife's on the other hand had starting to lock up at the lockscreen slowly kept getting worse.  I had that one exchanged yesterday.  I am beginning to think that it was a bad batch of phones, when

I exchanged mine they were out had to get them from another store, again with hers was still out and only got a shipment that same day.

I know you said your problem was resolved but if you have any trouble try my post above. generally clearing the cache partition fixes things.
