Just finished updating my phone.  My apps seem to run faster and my the overall system seems to be running faster as well.  So far it looks to be great improvement.  There are changes in the appearance, but I think it is a cleaner overall appearance... especially with the text messaging and contacts list.

After finishing the upgrade process, I too have noticed incredible speed in relation to Jelly Bean. This is somewhat expected as KitKat was designed to do this, but I almost cannot believe how fast some of the apps are. Particularly Gmail. It was always slow and laggy in Jelly Bean. Its fast, fluid, and has almost no lag now. I can see now why moto wanted to take their time with this, they wanted to get it right, without breaking other features with faulty code. So far, well done.

One small noticeable issue I have seen is that when coming to the home screen, from any anywhere, be it app, settings, or even the recent apps menu, the Circles widget has a rendering issue. It is either black for a second, while it loads, or is invisible for that second. It's of little consequence, its more of a visual thing, as after that second, it works fine. This may be a result of KitKat's process management. It could be that the widget is only loaded into memory when at the homescreen, and thus takes a little time to do so. In any case, thanks for a great update so far!

This was seen on Droid Razr M as well. It was improved as much as could be. It takes a little while to process new information into the widget.

Understood, I figured it was something like that. Just brought it up in case it was a sign of a bigger problem, which it seems it is not. As it doesn't hinder performance, It's a non issue.

It's refreshing that the update doesn't have to be mauled by my provider like other phones I've owned.  Seems to work just fine although the icon changes managed to clash with my background image...
