I have a Motorola Electrify MB853 ( the older 3G CDMA/GSM hybrid ) from US Cellular. I have the unlock key code from US Cellular to unlock my phone. My question is...what is the procedure? Is there a "service mode" I'm supposed to goto or is it a matter of finding the software online and unlocking via computer (I.E. Bootlocker or bootloader whichever its called)

The 'usual' procedure for SIM unlocking your device is to install a SIM card from a different carrier. The phone should then prompt you for the unlock code, which you can then enter.
If you get any errors after the first attempt - do not keep trying - refer back to your carrier for support. After a certain number of failed attempts the phone permanently locks down.

The older Electrify for US Cellular did not have a SIM card.View original
Oops - got my carriers mixed up. Thanks Poko!
I would defer to the carrier for instructions.

I need help! Sorry mods.
I have a Motorola Electrify 2 XT881 I recently bought at a garage sale, the carrier is US Cellular, I have 2 problems,
1. I cannot use the keyboard function because there is a crack in the screen and access to the IMEI number is next to impossible.
Therefore I cannot use the keyboard.
2. I need to know if there is a way to replace the screen and get to the IMEI via USB? I just want to use it as a portable hotspot and cannot afford a data plan yet of any kind and I am going to be needing it soon. Please help.
I have Windows XP laptop. Anyway. Thank you for your assistance.
