I have a lot of PDFs and DOC files on my phone I use for reference at work and I have to go to file and find the one I want to view them is there a way to set up a icon for each one that I can click on and view them like you would in windows.

I did not find a solution for the .doc files, but this app might work for your PDF files:
Shortcut Maker Pro $1.00

This one says it can make a shortcut to an individual file.

Neither of the apps I found have a lot of ratings yet however....

I'm not sure if the Electrify came preinstalled with QuickOffice, but that
will allow you to veiw .PDF, and .doc files.
And this will allow you to open the files right from QuickOffice.

Quote: "With a file manager like EStrongs File Explorer you can put shortcuts of your docs on the home screen.
With EStrongs go to your doc, long press on the file name and at the context choose shortcut ... voila Go back to the home screen and you will find your doc as shortcut."
Worked great for me PDFs DOCs XLS TXT
