Old Kernel and W/O gui acceleration

2012-04-28, 23:14 PM

In FireXT (XT530/531) Motorola uses old kernel (from Froyo) and dyplay is not GPU accelerated.

My question is: WHY.

Does Motorola think that their customers are stupid?

We need new software with new kernel and gui GPU accelerated and with unlocked boot loader.

Yes does motorola have any reply to this!! Its terrible most of the problems we face on our phone is because of the way Motorola has tried to disable features and put gingerbread on a froyo kernel.

And on top of that they lock their bootloaders so we customers cannot even do anything about it .

If the XT532 can have the new gingerbread kernel why can you not release a similar update for our phone the hardware is essentially the same !!!

You have duped as into buying a phone which has good hardware and poor software .. most of my friends (20 of them to be exact ) were going to buy motorola till i told them my experience now they are looking else where .!

Your company is in loss and by not listening to customers and trying to cheat customers how do you expect to improve those sales ..!

My next phone is not going to be motorola that is for sure.!

i bougth your domino+ (fire xt 530) based on the hardware features used to promote the phone, after purchase y realize that the phone has the froyo kernel instead of the gingerbread kernel to run gingerbread 2.3.5, this makes the adreno 200 gpu less usefull and disallows flash player to function, this is unacceptable an gives motorola devices a bad name in a really feature based market, it poses you as a brand who cheates on customers an poses us the customers as idiots, unlock the bootloader so we can fix the issues your developers did not be capable of (or worse did not want to) thank you in advance.

AFAIK, it won't be upgraded beyond 2.3.5 but I could be wrong. Keep visiting http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/support/update/ from time to time for updates.

Yes, it is true that the phone heats up rather quickly. It's unfortunate that it has a Froyo Kernel (APPS_2.6.32.9) instead of a Gingerbread Kernel (i.e. 2.6.35 and above) which brings me to ask why can't a Gingerbread phone have Gingerbread Kernel?
