If motorola cared about damage control it would release 2.3 for the milestone as a public apology.

worst phone i've ever touched and i've gone through many phones and many *horrible* phones.

Um... how come the Droid (which is pretty similar to the Milestone) has already got Froyo, whilst the rest of us are still waiting ? Question. If I download Froyo for Droid, can I apply it to my Milestone A853 or will I screw it up completely ?

Droid is CDMA | Milestone is GSM

You are going to screw it up completely....

you can't, really. bootloader is locked. Most you can do is make it need a complete reflash. but you can't screw it up completely/permanently

Motorola; you are a joke of a company.

Why is it that we still don't own the phone we thought we purchased 18 months ago?

Even on the box there is functionality advertised that the phone still hasn't aquired. Many of us are looking to upgrade to a new phone now because this one is becoming obsolete and your promsied upgrade still hasn't taken place.

Your support is disgraceful. Your products are over-priced. You lie to your customers. You falsly advertise your products with features they don't, nor ever will have.

I shall not puchase another product from you in my life time. I will and have actively discouraged people from purchasing any of your products.

I hope that you improve, because at the moment your outfit is laughable and I don't see how you will succeed if you continue getting such bad publicity from your disgruntled user base.

@Angourakis

There is a Milestone A854 (CDMA) which is essentially the DROID by Motorola A855 but without Verizon Branding. FroYo is not available for the A854

There is also the Milestone A853 (GSM). The upgrade to FroYo is now available in select countries and will continue to roll out to additional countries in the near future, with the exception of Russia.

Quick Q - I'm in the UK, so should be able to upgrade - however, it looks as if I can't do it because I have a Mac running OSX?

Is there an installer that can help me (no access to Windows...)

Cheers...!

For ways to upgrade if you don't have access to a Windows PC, please contact your local Motorola Service here:

https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/call

and you will be provided with the necessary steps.
