It makes no sense why the xt720 is not getting a froyo update. Based on Motorolas own documentation, the xt720 is more powerful than other devices that are getting the update:
So what is the rationale?

Though I might be the Nth Person repeating this for the Nth but here you go:
"If you don't upgrade my milestone xt720 to froyo, this ones going to be my last motorola phone. And I wouldn't recommend Moto to my friends either"
I wonder how you can antogonise so many CUSTOMERS in this age of competition! especially in Asia-pac.

As long as Motorola does not unlock the bootloader we can not do anything without them.
This is their "SMART" trick in to letting you buy a new phone after only 2 to 6 months.
I love this phone but allso think that it is capable of allot more if it is updated to Froyo.
For Motorola it is only changing a few files in the firmware from the Motoroi XT720 and adding languages, i think for a professional at Motorola it will only take 1 or 2 days or less of work to port it to the non Korean XT720.
It is just that they dont want to do it so they can try to sell more phones.
No Motorola for me anymore allso no Samsung as they %^$X#@ me up with the i8910HD allso.
Hope there are still honest phone manufacturing companys out there that will support their customers with new firmware updates if possible.

Different phones labeled the same manufacturer logo "MOTOROLA" has different after-care services, IS THAT FAIR?
not to mention the very phone "XT701" is selling by the model name "Milestone".
If Milestone can update to Froyo, we want our "Milestone XT701" updated too!
Plz satisfy our needs and do as our request!
WE WANT OUR "Milestone XT701" UPDATED!

You would expect that all regions would follow the lead of the Korean 2.2 release... it would be excellent to hear the voice of Motorola on this one. I've given a report of my frutrations with the device and support for it on my blog.

I bought my XT720 few months ago and believed (was sure because other companies are doing this), that we would get update to 2.2 which was "ongoing" for all manufacturers... Now I'm sure that MOTO never planned to support this device and for me MOTO is DEAD. I planned to buy at next your new Olympus but now - never! Now the next will be perhaps a LG or HTC.
American companies will lose the competition because of their monthly based preformance management... You hope, you can sell your "new" devices when you stop upgrading the existing which only are few month old ...
