2.2 it gives a new lease in live to the good XT720
it really makes it shine, and runs real smooth
the best thing is the DEV gurus at XDA are very good at the quick turn around time to any reported bug

I used the Froyo upgrade just about an hour ago and now I have flash on that phone. This works great! Thanks for saving my XT720 from collecting dust on a shelf.
And hey, Motorola, BITE ME! You'll never see another dime of my hard earned money but at least this community protects each other and makes your products usable.

Yes he is good on turn around time.
The problem is that after froyo... what is next for the Milestone xt720? Assuming the Motoroi doesn't get upgraded, then the phone becomes a paper-weight again. This community can only go so far without the support of the manufacturers, via-unlocking boot or upgrades.

Matt, Mark, Someone,
Since Moto Europe announced they are releasing beta 2.2 to the Milestone A853 does that imply that maybe Moto has pulled it's corporate head out of the sand (or wherever it's been) and maybe just maybe they are going to do something about releasing 2.2 for the 720 or should we just continue to rely or third party since Moto can't seem to get this done?

Why on Earth would Motorola change their policies? They have so many phones running on 1.5 still- phones that are new mind you.
You're better off taking your own advice and going on Ebay, selling it, and buying a phone you are happy with... since this one clearly is not making the cut.

I gave up on my XT720. It's sad too, because I really liked the phone. I just got tired of waiting for an update to get the newer apps. My thanks goes to Motorola for helping me spend my money on another newer phone from another maker. Motorola will really have to come out with the best phone made before I'll buy another Motorola product again.
