Help!!!! Motorola XT720

I recently purchased an XT720, and while I like some of the phone's features, it's very frustrating!  My issue is that nothing is saving to the 8gb SD card I have in the phone.  I love to take pictures of my four children, and I'm unable to do this because they save to the phone.  I also enjoy downloading tons of apps, but I'm again I'm unable to because of the issue.  I took my phone to the store where it was purchased and they gave me some crap response that it was the 2.1 operating system.  I previously had the Droid X with the same OS and never had this issue.  He also gave me a link to a site that was supposed to walk me through partioning my SD card and then linking my apps to it.  This did not work.  As far as I can tell by the instructions I received, I did everything correctly to partition it, but when I placed it back in my phone and pulled up the Link2SD app that I installed, it said it was not partitioned.

Is this a common issue with these phones?  Is there a way to fix this?  Any help is MUCH appreciated to this very frustrated user.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help!!!! Motorola XT720

Are you able to view the SD card in the phone?

Settings > Phone & SD storage

It should show you how much is available on the card. Let me know what it says and we will go from there.

Re: Help!!!! Motorola XT720

ok. Select "Unmount SD card" from that list. Once the card unmounts, format the card. When it's done with the format it should automount the card.

For the record, you do not have apps2SD funtionality with Android 2.1, but the pictures should save to the card after this.

I've done this... pictures do seem to be saving so far but not apps.

Re: Help!!!! Motorola XT720

Yeah, apps will not save to the SD card with Android 2.1. Nothing wrong with

the phone in this respect, but a limitation by the OS.

Re: Help!!!! Motorola XT720

Unfortunately, there is no official upgrade to 2.2.
