Even more now there is a hack out for this firmware - we need the upgrade more than desire I would say.
Otherwise, your web browser is vulnerable and worthless. Any website can read the contents of your SD card...

I bought the best Android phone Cincinnati Bell had. The Milestone XT720.
I love the phone but it has such limited memory available.
I need Froyo (Android 2.2) to use the APPS2SD functions etc. so I can add more apps...
Cincinnati Bell gave me a blank look when I asked about it, they did finally say it was up to Motorola and that they had nothing to do with them.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease give the U.S. XT720 users Froyo soon.

I am fairly new here, but it is surprising to me that no one from Motorola has popped their head up in this thread. If there's bad news--deliver it.
Updating to 2.2 would make the device a viable powerhouse that users and Mot can both be proud of.
Also, how is Motorola helped by alienating power-user early adopters? After all, who else even knows the device exists? Why actively kill off your best potential ambassadors? On that basis alone it's a no-brainer.

Motorola has not said anything because they don't care, because the number of people with this phone is well under 1,000. This is because Cincy Bell has the rights to it in the U.S. They don't care about the phone because they know that they won't make much money off of it here. Even if we don't get Froyo, the Motoroi is, and some guys over at XDA have already loaded their phones with firmware from other countries. So if the Motoroi gets it, we will hack it.

Signed - It is a total lack of concern for the end users ( which is something Motorola claims to care so mucn about on their website) that i find so damn irritating. I dumped a perfectly good Nokia to go tho this phone. I am seriously considering going back to it. Never had an issue of too many apps loaded.
