Razr V XT885 keeps restarting frequently

2013-04-15, 6:22 AM

Dear everybody,

My Razr V xt885 was being used normally before, no 3rd application installed, Generally, my cellphone is clean.

Yesterday, it suddenly did not recognize my sim. Then automatically it kept restarting frequently. I perform factory reset but my cellphone still restarts incessantly and automatically, and also does not recognize my sim. The imei figure is blank when I push *#06# to check.

My XT885 is running 4.0.4

Do you know this situation and the way to solve this serious problem ?

Have you tried reseating the SIM card. I would power the phone down, pull the SIM card, restart the phone. Once completely booted up, power down the phone again and re-insert the SIM card. Make sure it is completely seated (pushed all the way in and locked). Restart the phone. If that doesn't work, I would request a new SIM to see if that is the issue. If not, may be hardware issue. You can also try running in safe mode, but if no 3rd party apps, that may not do anthing for you.

Hi Mr.Bond,

Does that happen as well with another SIM card?

If so, then the SIM card reader might be faulty and it could be that a repair is required. Where did you buy the phone?

Cheers,

Nicole

Dear Nicole,

Other sim cards, I also tried and the problem still remains in original errors : not recognize sim card and still reboot constantly.

I've bought it in China.

Best regards

Bond

Please don't take this wrong, but make sure the SIM card is seated properly. You may need to use your fingernail (or some other small tool), but make sure it is pushed in all the way and locked. You should not be able to pull the SIM back out without pushing it in first. If you can pull out the SIM before pushing it in first, then it is not seated properly.

Hi Mr.Bond,

Does it still do the same thing? Contact the place of purchase for repair options then. If the phone does not recognize any SIM cards then the SIM card reader is faulty.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Nicole

Dear grandsport,

Certainly, I put my sim card into the slot properly, no problem on it. The matter is that XT885 does not recognize any SIM cards and always reboots.

Dear Nicole,

The shop I bought in China here :

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=19110812238&ali_trackid=2:mm_14507416_2297358_8935934:1364547692_310_181704921&spm=a230z.1.5634029.35.QlbRm7

Perhaps they closed their website to erase the trace and escape from the warranty.

Bad trade in China.

Best regards

Bond

Hi Mr.Bond,

This is the Hong Kong Motorola Support website. I know you bought it from China and not from Hong Kong, but maybe the agents there can help you a step further in getting it repaired:

https://motorola-mobility-en-hk.custhelp.com/app/call//session/L3RpbWUvMTM2NjY0MjIxMC9zaWQvcFV4OWZtb2w%3D

If the place of of purchase cannot help, try them.

Hope that is helpful.

Cheers,

Nicole
