charging a RAZR V3c with usb cable to imac

2013-09-29, 17:58 PM

I have 2 questions:

1. I was given a used RAZR V3c cel phone from my nephew.  He couldn't find the charger so I have to charge using a USB cable to my imac.  I downloaded the USB drivers for the mac but there are no instructions and when I plug the phone in a message comes up "unable to charge".  What do I do now?

2. We were told that in order for us to use the phone we would have to replace a chip in the phone because we live in a different city than my nephew.  Does anyone know what I have to do?

Thanks for your help

Hey everguard,

Sorry your post went under my radar. Do you still need help?

Did you have the chane to try another charger and another cable to see where the issue is?

I don't know about the chip - do you mean the SIM card? Who told you that? Can you make calls at all?

Cheers,

Nicole

Nicole, I gave up on trying to charge the phone on my computer and

bought a charger. I was told that because the phone was owned by
someone else in another city that I had to get a "chip" or maybe it was
the simm card replaced. I can't make calls but everything else on the
phone seems to work.
