In facts, it´ll run Eclair (Android 2.1). It's confirmed by Motorola, on a brazilian page.

moto has not posted this yet but it it does appear to be that as the i1 is 1.5 hybrid with 2.1 i would think they would make this one at least 2.2

and the battery is worse then the current one for the i1 but they did inpove the talk time

http://www.techtudo.com.br/lancamentos/noticia/2011/05/motorola-xprt-e-titanium-novos-celulares-android-com-teclado-qwerty.html

This is the page of a renowned Brazilian newspaper. I'll translate some parts of titanium:

"The Motorola Titanium is more modest in its operating system, it comes with Android 2.1. Conversely, it is the first smartphone to combine the use iDEN Nextel Direct Connect with Eclair version of Android. It also features a 3.1 inch screen (touchscreen)."

So, it'll really run the Eclair.

Re: Motorola Titanium = Iden on Andriod 2.1?

The Titanium have both touch and keyboard. We´ll need to "merge" the two roms, like they did with this rom. They put some "parts" of the 2.1 rom inside the 1.5 that we have.

Now I ask, for Motorola, for Mark, for everyone:

The i1 uses de Iden 800Mhz, and the Titanium uses both Iden 800 and 900 Mhz.

The huge diference between i1 and Titanium is the cpu and memory:

i1: CPU = 800Mhz / Memory: 230Mb

Titanium: CPU = 1Ghz / Memory: 512Mb

Why can't the i1 have an update right now? Motorola told that the biggest problem is use the PTT feature with the Eclair OS. But 2 months later they release a new phone, with both PTT and Eclair.

So, what is the excuse right now?

there excuse is that this phone is not fast enough

ps nextel i1 is 850 mhz and boost is 800 and the i1 has 512 ram however 256 is dedicated to the os and can not be used out side of it leaving 256 for programs i do not know where you found 230 even motos programing tools for the i1 say this i have found some third party sites that have it at only 256 ram due to the os reserve issue

PS ALL iden phones use 800 [talk] and 900 [hear] this is why data is always 20 up and 20 down [KBs]
