2 Factor Authentication Problem

After implementing Google's 2-step verficaiton, many of my Google apps don't work. When I start an app, it tells me that the password changed and asks me to log in. I enter my password, but the app doesn't accept it.

On my other devices, a browser window opens up to deal with the 2nd authentication.

I've used the built in browser to enter the 2nd authentication, but no luck.

The Triumph is unrooted.

Any suggestions?

Re: 2 Factor Authentication Problem

You need to create a Google application-specific password.  Log into your Google account.  Go to Accounts - Security - Authorizing applications and sites.  You then put that generated password in your phone.

Re: 2 Factor Authentication Problem

wardnkathy, thanks for your suggestion. I thought about doing that too, but with my Tranformer and Nexus, I didn't have to do that, I used the Google Authenticator which is similar to the RSA Token (numbers change periodically and can only be used once).

Maybe because the Triumph is Froyo, the Google Authenticator doesn't work.

I'll try the app-specific password a try later today.

Re: 2 Factor Authentication Problem

Hi everyone,

The Google Application Specific Password is the solution.
