Bionic Lapdock No Volume Control after ICS- & More

2012-10-26, 4:57 AM

Since updating to ICS, I can no longer use my lapdock to listen to music at work since the volume goes from off to max and nothing in between. Are there any solutions to this?

I also lost firefox and facebook. Webtop 3.0 seems to be just an enlarged version of the phone on the lapdock.

Any solutions to this volume issue would be great.

If I remember right, Motorola said that not all features would work with the Bionic and the lapdock. This must be something that doesn't work right.

It does seem to work right for me while using the Lapdock 500 and a Razr. I don't know what else to offer you. Sorry.

I actually like Webtop 3.0 better than the Firefox only browser. There are pros and cons to both. Using Chrome Browser is the closest I could get to the most functionality in a web browser. Chrome is the bomb on the lapdock.

They also have Flash working in Chrome now too. It works in full screen mode. Fantastic!

I found chrome to be so unusable on my bionic lapdock that I uninstalled it.  Maybe there's something I was doing wrong.  I just got my lapdock a few days ago, so I'm a newbie with it.  If I capitalized a letter while using the physical keyboard I got the capital letter, then a repeat of that letter in lowercase, requiring me to go back and delete the repeated letter.  For example, if I typed Gmail, I would get Ggmail.  As far as I could tell, this was only occuring in Chrome.  I could "fix" it by turning off auto-capitalization, but that simply uncovered another bug.  This action also turned off auto-capitalization on the phone itself, even though auto-capitalization was still checked after undocking the phone.  This made texting and typing on the phone a bit of a hassle.

I also have the volume control problem.  I did notice that volume control works fine if you're using headphones.  That helps, but it's still a rather annoying problem.

No Volume Control here either, it's either full volume or mute - slider graphicly shows decreaseing volume but volume does not change. A quick google search shows many people complaining about it on various forums -  I Would like to see Moto weigh in on this issue.

My new Lapdock 500 pro had a great sound output when I first docked my Droid Razr XT910, tha was only the first time then never heard sound output from the lapdock.

Sound is routed to HDMI, when routed to phone sound was ok on the phone and when re routed to HDMI no output from dock.

Hard reset the dock did not fix the problem.

Help please.

Thanks.

I have the same issue with my oroginal Lapdock as well as the same issue with my Mororola Universal Smart Controller (RZ100). When the Bionic is docked in the HD Media Docking Station, the volume control is all or nothing but I do have audio control when hooked to my Lapdock 500.

It sounds like because it's going through HDMI, it assumes volume control would be handled by whatever it's connected to.
