Jelly bean OS for Motorola Xoom FE

2013-07-31, 13:39 PM

I live in the UK and own a motorola Xoom family edition tablet, which has ICS OS. I would like to know, if this is going to be upgraded to Jelly Bean in UK? If yes, when?

Also, I have noticed that the tablet is becoming slower and slower over the past months gradually. Can you suggest something to improve the performance.

Hey Ashish-Jain,

You could use a cache cleaner or an easy uninstaller app from the Google Play Store to clear up memory on your device.

If you do not need Google maps on the Xoom for example, restore the factory version and clock it from automatic updates. This can be done with all pre installed apps.

To do so, go to the Play Store, tap on the menu button in the top right and tap on my apps

You will see a list with all installed apps. Tap on the app you wish to replace with the factory version (e.g. Google Chrome) and in there, tap again on the menu button and untick the option auto - update.

Regarding the update, have a look here. I am afriad it says that it will stay on ICS.

Hope that helps, let me know if you have further questions.

Cheers,

Nicole
