Re: Problem transfering a big file to the Xoom...

2011-06-13, 7:55 AM

OK, i ripped the DVD again with Xoom standard profile to get a smaller file (1,7GB, and btw. i am aware, that the 5GB-ripping was an overkill, but it was my first touch with DVD Catalyst, so i didn't know the result ). The transfer worked like a charm.

To shorten the discussion, maybe someone of the Moto representatives can clarify which file system is used for the user data and if there are limitations in file size (at FAT32 i know the 4GB file size limit) which are not "reported" or catched through that MTP...

Thanks.

Regards, Thorsten

I don't know what filesystem Xoom uses, but it is irrelevant because Xoom uses MTP to transfer files, and in that protocol saving the file on the destination device is handled by the destination device itself, the origin device doesn't need to know anything about the filesystem.
