2012-06-07, 13:39 PM

Anyone know the maximum SD Card size for my Motorola Xoom WiFi tablet?  Tablet see's the card but I cannot access it or format it from the tablet.  It is not lock protected.  Current size is 16GB.

Hello fang5,

The maximum size supported by the Xoom is 32GB. Check your formatting of the card, it must be formatted using FAT32 on a PC before installing it in the Xoom.

32GB?  I have a 64GB SanDisk MicroSDXC installed that I use (formatted FAT32).

 @Dave,

Per the official supported list of memory for the Xoom, 32GB is the max and SDXC is not a supported MicroSD type. Yes, I have heard that others have worked, but per the specs, this would be at your own risk.

Is the original USA version xoom (when it first came out on the marked) the same hardware as the /a new current USA only zoom?  I was thing about getting a refurbushed one for the mid $200s.   I would probably aim for the wifi version vs the 3g assuming I can piggy back off of my andriod phone.         Thanks

Hello OldHippie,

Yes, the hardware has basically remained the same throughout each Xoom model production timeline. If you are buying a refurbished model (they are a great deal),  just make certain you are buying the U.S. version of the Xoom. There have been some non-US models accidentally resold in the US, even through third party sellers on Amazon.
