I am a developer, as as you would expect, I spend time writing applications. At the moment I am writing for the Motorola Xoom. During the development process, I need to get access to the sqlite databases that are present in /data/data/my.app.domain/databases/mydb.db however I am unable to do so because I don't have the permission. The only solution is to root the Xoom and extract the databases so that I can further debug the app.
Since Motorola seem to allow users to unlock the bootloader, which I have done, I wondered if there is a "sanctioned" mechanism for getting root, i.e. does Motorola have a root kernel image availible for the UK 3G Xoom? I don't really have the time to start installing images that I can find on XDADevelopers and other sites, and further testing those with my app.
If this isn't possible, then what is the best root'ed' kernel which will keep 3G working?
Thanks for your help.
All the best,
