Re: ICS Update Schedule Conclusion

I think the simple solution for me is to wait a couple of days and see what Google announce around their Nexus 7 tablet. The rumours say quad core, and jellybean with a reasonable price. How ironic will that be when Motorola can't even update the Xoom to ICS outside of continental North America?

I was just reading old news and I saw that modders had ICS for Xoom back in late Dec of last year... so how is it that Motorola, with a team of supposed professionals, can't do it in 6 months? Answers on a postcode please.

Well... I have to say that I am annoyed that having a choce between Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Motorola Xoom I went for Xoom. In my darkest nightmares never came to me that support would be so bad. Now when I see tablets that are sold in supermarkets for less tahn 100$ with ICS and all I can only curse my stupidity that I ever believed in Motorola. I don't know how about useres from the others countries of EU feel, but I feel cheated.

Re: ICS Update Schedule Conclusion

Hi.

I choosed to buy an Spanish "Motorola Xoom Wifi only" instead of buying other tablet models and now I'm really disappointed. Not with the hardware itself, but with the support offered by Motorola (let's call it better, non-support).

My Xoom runs Android 3.2, which I need to REBOOT every 4-5 days because it crashes, freezes, etc, and my Samsung Galaxy S mobile phone with ICS works better and faster than my tablet.

I've been waiting MONTHS for the ICS-update announced date... "2012 Q2", says Motorola's update-timeline website... 2012 Q2 has ended and I'm still waiting with a tablet working WORST than a "clonic-Gingerbread-cheap-chinese-mobile".

Modders have been running ICS for 6 months and Motorola Engineers still haven't released ICS for NON-US xooms. Even worst, US people will see JellyBean this year, while we still wait for ICS.

I'll give Motorola one month. July. If by the end of July my Xoom does not have official ICS installed on it, I'll go with a "custom ROM" and it will be the LAST motorola product I'll ever buy, including tablets, mobiles (I was about to buy Motorola Razr Maxx, NOT NOW), and I'll warn everybody about the support. Or maybe selling it in the second hand market would be a choice, and buy other non-Motorola tablet with real support.

Motorola has still the chance to make me change my mind. But it has one month to do it.

Motorola sux badly, today official ICS for Samsung Note is out already. Those guys are fast and they win over the customers for better support and great hardware.

My Motorola Xoom MZ601? When was it launched? Still there is no official ICS till now. I really regret getting a Motorola product.

I didnt believe at first, but is there Version 1.7.1-39.1 / kernel 2.6.39.4 / Android 4.0.4

Cheers

*** profanity removed ***. Rather than waiting for an update that won't come, just GEDify your device and get the updates straight from Google as was intended.

In Australia, friends of mine with the MZ601 have got the ICS update automatically OTA several weeks ago, but I'm still waiting for mine (in Australia). I guess Telstra and Motorola are to blame!
