Accounts on xprt

2012-10-19, 12:25 PM

Hi,

I'm using xprt on a vodafone network . I'm not able to connect to the Google play store or for that matter any accounts like Google, Facebook etc. While trying to login or connect using my data connection, in the data connection icon arrows, only the outgoing arrow is blinking, at the end it displays - can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. Though the browser is working fine, but m not able to login or use any accounts viz ;-  Facebook, Google , Yahoo mail etc. Plz help.

Wait.  So you can surf the internet just fine to various sites on the web but you cannot use any of the accounts that you have set up on the device?

What color are your connection icons?  Are they white (or grey) or blue???

The connection icons are white and black (on and off) while using the browser, but while trying to login to an account the up arrow is black and the down icon remains white.

So if you never see blue then you are not connecting to Google's servers.

Has your device been modified at all?

It almost sounds like something is wrong with your Google account on the device....do you only have one Google account connected to the device?

Yes, it has been rooted. Moreover, i'm not able to log-on to any of the accounts, leave apart google. Thats why apart from browsing, i'm not able to access any other service.

Unfortunately, when devices are rooted it becomes very difficult for us to try to problem solve as we do not know what modificiations have been done to the device.  Is there any way to return your device OS to the stock condition?  Remember, changes made to the device while you have root access are not reversed by simply loading the original OS onto the device--you need to manually reverse all the changes that you have made.

Obviously there is something wrong with your ability to connect to Google servers...could be something like an authentication step is missing or disabled, or a port setting is set wrong, etc.

If you can get your device back to stock, the rest of us might have a better chance at helping you to find a solution.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with that.  For one, detailed discussion or how-to's on modding are not allowed in the Motorola Forums unless it is for one of the Developer Editions , and secondly I lack the expertise to guide you since I've never unlocked or rooted any of my devices.

In my opinion, whomever guided you in the first place would likely be able to help you reverse your process.

Best of luck!
