There is no native way to take screenshots on the XPRT. There are apps that require both user-level and root-level access.

If you would like, I have attached an .apk for an app called "screengrab" that does not require root access for most phones. This app is free and was written by an XDA member by the name of mindphaze. All rights belong to him.

@cheezykiwi

To date, I do not know of an inherent capability for screen shots on the phone (someone else might want to weigh in on that if I am wrong...).

There is, however, an app on the Android Market that will take screen shots.

No Root Screenshot It by Edward Kim $4.99 (There are other apps that are cheaper, but I believe most of the other apps require root access)

NOTE:  I am not in any way connected to the developer

Hope this helps.

I've tried a number of screen capture apps, and I ended up using the one my Ed Kim: No Root Screenshot It

It works well for me, does NOT require the XPRT be rooted, and appears to be reliable.

The only PITA bit about it is you need to connect the XPRT to a computer (PC or Mac) and run a tiny program that allows the app on the XPRT to work. This must be done any time you restart the XPRT.

If you can put up with that, the app is worth the $5.

Coming from another smartphone that fully supported screen captures out-of-the-box (Palm Pre), I was surprised and disappinted that Android devices didn't.

There is a screenshot app that servbotx posted in one of these threads that

does not require root, and is free. Do some searching, you will find it.

Thanks,

J

Been a while, so I'm not totally sure, but IIRC that particular "solution" was PC only...
