How to view Mirage Solo Camera on Mirage Solo Headset?

2018-05-21, 16:34 PM

I thought the whole idea of buying the Mirage Solo and its camera together was to view the camera content on the Mirage Solo, but the VR180 app is incompatible with the Mirage Solo. How is this meant to work?

Hi,

If you want to view content captured with your Mirage Solo camera on the headset, please follow the steps below:

  • Download the VR180 app onto your smartphone
  • Connect the solo camera to your smarphone
  • Download captured content from the camera to your phone
  • Upload the content (downloaded onto your phone) to your google drive

Your should now be able to view your captured content on your HMD, via google drive.

I hope this information is helpful!

Thanks,

G_Wilson

Some of my videos seem to be too large to successfully transfer over bluetooth (28 GB). Are the videos pre-stitched? Can I grab the video directly off my phone and upload it to Google Photos with all necessary metadata intact?

I've been transfering files to my Windows PC via a USB-C to USB cable and then uploading them to Google Photos. I don't think there is any stiching going on. I think the file meta data identifes it as VR180 still or video content. I think the device/application that you are using as a viewer has to be VR180 aware to display it correctly. We are early adopters and will probably sustain our share of bumps along the road.?

The fact that the Solo and the camera were sold as a bundle would cerainly lead one to believe that there would be close integration between the two but this couldn't be further from the truth. I sold the Solo and am pleased with viewing the content with an Oculus Go that to me seemed to provide a better visual experience. Your mileage may vary.
