Mirage Solo: installation problem

I just received my new Mirage Solo. I setup the WiFi network that I am sitting right next to for an excellent connection. Then I was prompted to download and install an update. It proceeds for about 5 minutes and then stops with the message of "Installation Problem". I have retried this 6 times with the same result. At this point my only option is to return it unless I get some kind of technical support.

Hi,

I apologise for the issues you have run into when trying to update your device. To clarify, is this a firmware update for the device OS itself?

It is a firmware update. The first time you turn ON and use the device, it forces you to update via WiFi.

 

Can you provide a way to download the update to a PC? Then I can connect the device to my PC using a USB cable and install the update. This would eliminate any problems associated with the WiFi.

mikeh9, is device fully charged? AFAIK you need to have min. 40% battery for OTA update installation.

When you try to contact technical support and enter the serial number is just takes you back to the main screen again. I can't believe Lenovo has zero technical support for this new product.

Yes the device is 100% charged and I still have this problem. I guess I will just return it.

I'm having the exact same issue. Really frustrated.  It's one thing to have a problem where maybe something doesn't work perfectly, but to get it so you can't even start the thing, then to hear you can't update/fix it over USB either?  Not cool, Lenovo!  Not cool!  My Oculus Go turned on and was ready to go, with a good half-charge, right out of the box.  This costs twice as much and is a glorified paperweight.  I'm giving this 24 hours to hear of a resolution, or this and the camera I got with it are going back.
