I've owned this Boom bluetooth for a few months now, and have experienced poor performance with playing my music through it. The HX-550 does great, and when I upgraded my phone to an Galaxy S5 I upgraded my headset. When playing music (or any media for that matter) through the Boom, the audio cuts in and out and sometimes doesn't even play. It's not that I'm over-driving the audio (the volume is medium low).
Has anyone else had this experience?

My Boom plays media fine through both an android and iphone... Random thought: to be sure voice calls aren't also cutting out (voice isn't as continuous as music) try playing music on the other end of a phone call and see if you notice the cutting in and out.
