Re:SD card not recognised

2020-04-01, 14:51 PM

Hi TimTassie,

Thanks for getting back to me. Since the device was able to recognize the SD Card, we're moving on to your next concern which is insufficient storage. Did you move your contents to the SD Card when you we're prompt to set is as Internal Storage? How about setting up as Portable Storage and manually moving the files that you have on your device from Internal Storage to SD Card?

Best regards,

Mike

I can't do either. No prompt about moving stuff, and I found no way to manually move things.

Hi TimTassie,

Let me assist you. Can you share a screenshot of what you're seeing in the Files app?

Best regards,

Hi Rich

Here are some screen shots - two from File Manager, showing no recognition of the SD card, and one from Settings->Storage, showing it recognised.

Hi TimTassie,

Thanks for the screenshots. I remember this happened when the SD card has failed to read mode only. Can you try using a different SD card? Preferably a brand new SD card.

Let me know. Thanks.

I don't think I'll bother. Two cards failing in the same phone? Sounds like a crap phone to me. I'll just use it as it is. Inconvenient, but it's only a phone.
