Moto E5 XT1944-4 wireless/wifi signal problems Cricket Wireless

I have had this phone for a month or so and cannot figure out the issues with this phones wifi and network radios. I converted over to Cricket - so new SIM and new service to me. Line transfer went fine and overall the phone is great - minus cellular reception as well as wifi dropping.

For the wifi issue: happens at work on our Cisco based wireless environment - my connection constantly connects and disconnects. When trying to reconnect after a disconnect I usually see an error that states either IP failure or it states disabled - after a short while it connects again without issue. This happens elsewhere as well including home however is persistant at work.

The cellular network signal issues are more pressing. Since this is a unlocked version I cannot enable wifi calling via Cricket (a known issue with unlocked phones). In my basement and 1st floor I consistently get no service (not even emergency calls) or emergency calls only as my best signal and I live in a heavily populated city of Milwaukee and per the Cricket stores and coverage map - no one has signal problems in this city. I fluctuate from full LTE (which is only what I should get) to nearly no HSPA+ signal (I should never be on HSPA+ in the city). Furthermore when I am driving around the tri-county area I constantly lose signal or go to HSPA+ in full covered LTE areas where the maps indicate I should be perfect. A mile from work I have an ATT antenna on the local water tower and even in direct path staring at it - same problems!

Cricket is blaming it being an unlocked international phone issue and that its constantly at battle with itself/internal radios which is why its fluctating from great to poor/no signal. I find this hard to beleive on how an international phone should operate. Their only solution after troubleshooting it is to sell this phone and buy a Cricket branded phone. I have looked all around and have not found really anything useful even on the forums here in relation to signal issues. Any help would be great - thanks!

Re: Moto E5 XT1944-4 wireless/wifi signal problems Cricket Wireless

It appears that you are using an out-of-region device for a service provider in the US. Although the phone is unlocked and may work in the United States, we cannot guarantee full compatibility. It is not optimized to work with US carriers. We suggest having the US model to make sure it will be compatible. We do not encourage customers buying a phone from a different country for extended use in another. In addition, manufacturer's warranty is limited to the country where the device is intended for sale.

Re: Moto E5 XT1944-4 wireless/wifi signal problems Cricket Wireless

Is there anything I can do to increase network signal at all? If its stated to be used in another country - ie international - it should fully function in any country more so the United States.
